The DeWitt Town Clerk is seeking to hire a Deputy Town Clerk. MUST BE A TOWN OF DeWITT RESIDENT.  Candidates should be dependable, organized, & detail oriented, with excellent customer service, written/verbal communication, & multi-tasking skills.  Basic accounting & MS Word/Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and web proficiency necessary.  Please submit resume to:  DeWitt Town Clerk, Angela Epolito, 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or

Department Description and Responsibilities
The Town Clerk serves as a major source of information concerning town government. The office also provides direct services to residents in multiple and diverse areas. The Clerk acts as a licensing agent for several New York State agencies, a passport agent for the United States Department of State, the Town’s Records Management Officer and Freedom of Information Law Officer, and as Clerk of both the Town Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Town Clerk also issues various local permits and handles complaints about residential trash service.


The Town Clerk’s office is now accepting Credit Cards payments for in person payments, except for passport fees. 

The merchant charges 2.45%, with a minimum of $1.75.  

These fees go directly to the merchant, a third party processor and are not retained by the Town.
