Senior Program

The CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) Program is funding provided from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through Oakland County to the City in order to keep communities sound, attractive and economically viable.  Sylvan Lake participates in the program and receives a formula share of funds to undertake eligible activities that best meet community needs.

Sylvan Lake’s funds will be used to assist seniors, within the City, over 62 years of age who qualify for assistance with yard services for this season. The City will contract with a vendor to provide the services.  (Services will conform to Oakland County guidelines and include lawn service, general spring/fall cleanup, dangerous tree removal/ trimming). Our CDBG Coordinator will post a notice (Approximately in March-April) when the city is accepting applications. The City of Sylvan Lake is an equal opportunity employer.
