I Want To...

I want to be an Election Inspector.
Do you enjoy people and service to others? Do you have energy and stamina? Do you have reading skills and can you print clearly? Are you willing to attend a training class? Are you willing to work a long day as a big service to your community? If this sounds like you, please contact the City Clerk at 920-487-5203.

I want to run for office.
The City of Algoma is divided into four aldermanic districts with two alderpersons per district.  Terms are two years and each year there is one alderperson from each district up for re-election.  The Mayor is elected for two year terms in even numbered years.  The City of Algoma uses the nomination paper process to get your name on the ballot.  On December 1st of the year preceding the election, you may distribute nomination papers and obtain signatures from persons living in your district to have your name put on the ballot. If 3 or more persons submit papers for the same office, a primary election would be held in February. The Spring Election is then held on the first Tuesday in April. Alderpersons take office on the third Tuesday in April and serve a two year term.

I want to know the dates of upcoming elections.
 - 2020 Spring Primary - February 18, 2020
 - 2020 Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary - April 7, 2020
 - 2020 Partisan Primary - August 11, 2020
 - 2020 General Election - November 3, 2020

I want to know what district and ward I live in.
