New Park Designs to be Unveiled
At their November meeting, the Carlisle Parks and Recreation Board will review the designs for new recreation areas along Fairground Avenue. Lot A will be turned into a skate spot, while Lot D will be a more traditional park area. Representatives from Frederick, Siebert & Associates (FSA) and Matt Arment of Arment Concrete will be on-hand to discuss the designs and answer questions.
In late July, public outreach began through Engage Carlisle. Over 130 people responded to a survey about what features they wanted to see in a skate spot, while approximately 70 people shared their thoughts on what recreational features should go on Lot D. Members of the local skateboarding community have attended Board meetings and shared their visions of what the skate spot should look like. Board members also canvassed the Fairground Avenue neighborhood to receive feedback from those closest to the site. FSA used all of this information to help guide its designs.
The Parks and Recreation Board Meeting will take place on Thursday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. at the Stuart Community Center, 415 Franklin Street.
